Can this tool tell if car miles were adjusted? I need a tool that can tell me that what do you suggest me ?

Thanks for a clear explanation of the testing and cleaning. On my BMW E90 N43 318i 4-cylinder, I have been chasing rough idles and misfires, and have replaced spark plugs, coils, low pressure fuel sensor and NOX sensor with some temporary improvements over past year. I recently did an oil and filter change with my regular Liqui Moly. With all other codes now clear. last week my basic OBD2 tool indicates a cylinder 3 misfire and injector fault, with very rough idle, stall and engine light. Could this fault be related to faulty vanos solenoids rather than an injector? Thanks for any experience you can share.

So many people have this error message due to a leaking sharkfin antenna. This is a bmw issue and they refuse to fix it. Ill never buy a bmw again. There's a lawsuit on this and hopefully bmw will step up.

If you are a person that does 5k miles a year, then you are a good candidate. You buy one a M850i now in 2024 that is 2-3 years old with 15k miles for 60 grand (US). Thencarnwas b 110k brand new! Then, If you own it 10 years, you'll only have 75k miles. That's usually when the problems starts with German cars. You get a fun, luxurious car for 10 years! Then get rid of it. If you put 10k or more miles, STAY AWAY!! Get a Lexus!

Yes, BMW makes performance oriented vehicles. Unfortunately, they use cheap plastic and unnecessarily complex design that adds nothing to the performance. They have no regard for the consumer long-term. They make the cars to last 3-5 years max. Mechanics all complain that German cars design can be somewhat retarded. No thought is put into reliability.

Is it a good idea to use a secondhand condenser? Yes the condenser itself is in good nick, but on these models the dryer is the tube attached to one end and as the unit has been open to the air for ages that dryer will not be working. Combined with the fact that using compressed air will also add a lot of moisture, this approach is quite likely to make your oil too acidic, which will be fine for a while but will cause something to fail eventually. I'm not sure that just vacuuming for half an hour after doing this will be enough to get the water to boil out of the hydrophilic oil. Allegedly running a sufficient vacuum for 8 hours or so might do it. Buying a bottle of dry nitrogen (and an M10x1 regulator) to provide the test pressure, and a new condenser with a new dryer is a much better plan.
